FUN, SWEET and TOTALLY  manic? Really?! Yes, but in a good way. The girls, Paige, Eve and Frankie in Sleepless in Manhattan by Sarah Morgan, are best friends and just enjoying life in the big city, until they went into work one day and came out unemployed.  Then the fun begins. Well, I can't really say that, because from the very first page, Sarah had given us a glimpse of how fun these girls are. Different in every way, but complementary as well, their little commute to work in the morning reminded me so much of life in NYC. Reading Sleepless in Manhattan brought back so many great memories, like enjoying the summer months with Shakespeare in the Park, relaxing in Central Park, strolling along the High Line, bustling through Grand Central Terminal, and having a nice coffee moment in the quaint areas of Brooklyn.

Also sweet in the romance department.  Though this story mainly focuses on Paige and Jake, we catch glimpses of what's to come for other potential couples in the series.  Yes, the romance was sweet, but what I find most endearing was the friendship these girls have. Relationships aren't just about romance.  True friendship stands the test of time and life's calamity, not to mention telling you the way it is. I miss my best friend every time I read these girls' easy banter, as well as the loving ones.  The emotional moments of friendship, plus the romance really took flight, enticing me to continue on in the series, because I've fallen for these girls.  I want to be their friend. There's also the empowerment one feels as these girls find the courage to build towards their dreams, individually and collectively. Sleepless in Manhattan may render you sleepless for a few hours until you breeze through this book, but I must warn you, the next one in the series, Sunset in Central Park doesn't release until August! Yikes!

Choosing my Bible to work around migraine

How did you choose your current Bible? Is this your first Bible?  I'll get into how I chose my current Bible, at least my main one. First, I would like to explain why I needed a new one. It all started with my determination to focus on reading the Bible if that's the only reading (and accomplishment) I get done in the day.  Since my migraine became chronic, reading had become unbearable for a variety of reasons associated with the symptoms.  This includes reading the Word, let alone studying it. In truth, there was a huge spiritual warfare going on during the time. That's another focus for another day.  My Bible has been with me for years.
