Beyond the Rising Tide by Sarah Beard could've gone very wrong, but it didn't. It provided just enough paranormal aspects to stimulate imagination, giving the dynamics of the characters and setting a good jumping backdrop. With a  beautiful cover, a lovely title, it draws readers in, and the story holds us there.  What remained the focus are the emotions that captivated readers. Told in the first person between Avery and Kai, we are privy to the intensity of Avery's regrets and fear since the day she met Kai for the first time. It was also the day Kai died. And we feel the innate goodness of Kai, though his struggles in the past life still haunts him at times.

What I do know is that Beyond the Rising Tide is tenderhearted and compassionate for those who suffered the "survivor guilt" and strings together a special connection between the saved and the savior. A simple, yet complex story of love beyond limits, of lost found and life of possibilities.

Choosing my Bible to work around migraine

How did you choose your current Bible? Is this your first Bible?  I'll get into how I chose my current Bible, at least my main one. First, I would like to explain why I needed a new one. It all started with my determination to focus on reading the Bible if that's the only reading (and accomplishment) I get done in the day.  Since my migraine became chronic, reading had become unbearable for a variety of reasons associated with the symptoms.  This includes reading the Word, let alone studying it. In truth, there was a huge spiritual warfare going on during the time. That's another focus for another day.  My Bible has been with me for years. June is National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month.   It's only since being diagnosed with migraines have I started understanding how vast and severely debilitating a disease it is. Migraine is a disabling disease that affects 37 million people in the United States.
