ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Will McIntosh’s debut novel, Soft Apocalypse, was a finalist for both a Locus award and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award. He is a frequent contributor to Asimov’s, where his story “Bridesicle” won the 2010 Reader’s Award, as well as the 2010 Hugo Award for Best Short Story. His third novel, Love Minus Eighty (based on “Bridesicle”) was published by Orbit books in June, 2013, and was named best Science Fiction novel of the year by the American Library Association. His upcoming novel, Defenders has been optioned by Warner Brothers for a feature film. Will recently moved to Williamsburg, Virginia with his wife Alison and twins Hannah and Miles. He left his position as a psychology professor in Southeast Georgia to write full time, and still teaches as an adjunct, at the College of William and Mary. Hello. Choosing my Bible to work around migraine

How did you choose your current Bible? Is this your first Bible?  I'll get into how I chose my current Bible, at least my main one. First, I would like to explain why I needed a new one. It all started with my determination to focus on reading the Bible if that's the only reading (and accomplishment) I get done in the day.  Since my migraine became chronic, reading had become unbearable for a variety of reasons associated with the symptoms.  This includes reading the Word, let alone studying it. In truth, there was a huge spiritual warfare going on during the time. That's another focus for another day.  My Bible has been with me for years. I loved everything about it, and to be unable to read it, I was frustrated and lost. Then an epiphany came on a lucid morning. June is National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month.   It's only since being diagnosed with migraines have I started understanding how vast and severely debilitating a disease it is. Migraine is a disabling disease that affects 37 million people in the United States.
