I'm back.... with Bible Giveaways
Hello. I've hinted on my Instagram (@justcommonly) that I'm in the process of coming back after years away from blogging.

I had the very intention to be posting within a week of the first hint. Yet life is full of surprises. As I was trying to reinstate my original blog (Just Commonly), I, unfortunately, had multiple technical issues due to the time length the blog was deactivated. Once I had it up and running, several "reports" had Google banned certain old posts, and eventually the blog itself. At this point, I had seriously doubted if it means I should just forget about it. Was my blog that bad and/or offensive that it was reported for malicious content and Google violations?
I submitted a review request, with the response that the blog link was no longer available to be reactivated. After some prayers and deliberation, I have changed the handle from justcommonly.blogspot to alwaysjustcommonly.blogspot. I have uploaded and republished previous reviews and author interviews from Just Commonly for those who are interested. I'm still manually checking them to make sure all links will be updated and/or remove posts that are not relevant anymore, such as giveaway posts.
Backstory:
For those that stumbled here or as a refresh for my former followers, "Just Commonly" was a review blog and my Instagram handle of the same name is an extension of it. A few years ago, I was diagnosed and continue to live with chronic migraine. It had completely changed me - affecting my lifestyle, my relationships and obviously my health. It was new, unexpected, volatile, confusing and it wreaked havoc all around and in me. When I can no longer do what I love, namely read, I was lost, angry and depressed.
The last time I felt like that, God threw me in the thick of what I was unfamiliar with, but it eventually lead me to Just Commonly. That was my first encounter with Christian Fiction. That's a different story I've shared in the past. With migraine - I couldn't turn to reading. From blurry vision to constant brain fog and pain, reading had become unattainable. For a reader, a book lover, it was torturous. Hence, the feelings of being lost, and depressed. The anger came as a surprised. Yet, it was the anger, and the understanding of it that propelled me to this next stage.
The Next Stage:
The anger sparked something in me; possibly the bit of rebellious nature in me. I've decided I will read. Yes, I will. I will find ways to make it stick. I will find ways around what migraine prevented me to do. Most days, my energy level is low - sometimes none at all. The beginning was harsh, but nowadays in recent years, I would have a couple of hours to do things - from chores to chatting with family. I started carving out a brief moment specifically to read. And I realized that if I can only have this brief moment, I will focus on the most important book - the Bible. Little did I know, this "daily brief moment" became the highlight of my day, and the balm to my soul. Even if it's just 5 minutes of lucidity during the reading, it became something I focused on. It wasn't easy, but with time and determination, it became a new normal. To this day, years later, there are still days that my mind and body can only handle a few minutes of focus reading.
(I'll dive more into my process as I continue on with this blog.)
What's Next:
With all that said, when I hinted that I was back, I meant me - the person behind justcommonly. Unavoidably, I will not be as active of a reviewer as I was before. I will still share books I've read or will read, along with what I focused on studying in the Bible. In truth, I expect this blog to be more personal. From how I managed as someone with chronic illness to my faith journey, to how I Bible study, how I manage to read, as well as times spent with my family, such as my wonderful miniature schnauzers, Gabby and Reagan and life in general. I hope and pray this blog will find its purpose for its readers.
For You (Bible Giveaway):
My time with the Bible these years have truly opened my eyes and heart. Discovering and the revelation of what I read not only affirmed my previous point of the Bible being the most important book, but it's actually a FUN read. More on that in later posts. What I want to share with you is that during my process of trying to get reading on the Bible as migraine became a second skin, I went through many criteria of which Bible I should use. So that means a lot of ones I won't be able to use. Here are 5 brand new/like new Bibles I plan on giving away on this blog before the year ends. Every 2 weeks, I will randomly choose a winner based on the entry requirements.
