Year-End 2016 Kids & Middle Grade Favorite Reads + Giveaway


Welcome to my very late Year-End 2016 Favorites!!

 My year end favorite reads are books I've read in 2016 for the first time (and not necessarily all reviewed here - eek! or reviewed in 2016 - a few were posted in January 2017).  They are also not all published in 2016, but majority am. 

To start it off, here's what's going to happen. Every day in through February 28th (minus Sunday) at 6:00 PM EST, 
  1. I will tell you my favorite reads in the category of the day through their covers (you know how I love covers) and 
  2. you click on them to see my review of the book (in a new window). 
  3. Then you come back and fill out the Rafflecopter for a chance to win a prize! 


Kids: Books that are tailored for kids, ages toddlers to age 7
Middle Grade: Books tailored for kids ages 8 - 14



  

   


OK, I admit, I read kids books, and I'm really into Middle Grade fiction. What not to like? Stories that can influence children to love stories, imagination and ultimately be readers, writers, astronauts, artists...etc whatever they want to be!

    Thank you Anna! I think it's important to be aware of all the great books out there, even if they are Bibles with different versions or study guides or non-fiction stories that guide or entertain readers. So thank you for pointing it out! I truly hope these selections will allow readers to be aware of all the great books out there!

I've hinted on my Instagram (@justcommonly) that I'm in the process of coming back after years away from blogging.  @justcommonly I had the very intention to be posting within a week of the first hint.  Yet life is full of surprises. Choosing my Bible to work around migraine

How did you choose your current Bible? Is this your first Bible?  I'll get into how I chose my current Bible, at least my main one. First, I would like to explain why I needed a new one. It all started with my determination to focus on reading the Bible if that's the only reading (and accomplishment) I get done in the day.  Since my migraine became chronic, reading had become unbearable for a variety of reasons associated with the symptoms.  This includes reading the Word, let alone studying it. In truth, there was a huge spiritual warfare going on during the time. That's another focus for another day.  My Bible has been with me for years. June is National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month.   It's only since being diagnosed with migraines have I started understanding how vast and severely debilitating a disease it is. Migraine is a disabling disease that affects 37 million people in the United States.
