Dear All, from Annie + Two Giveaways!


Dear readers, authors and fans of Just Commonly,

I was recently hospitalized and officially diagnosed with migraines. It's been only a couple of days at home resting, and recuperating from the associated ailments of migraines. Unfortunately, my recent struggles with migraines and being hospitalized because of it have made a significant change in my lifestyle, especially to my reading schedule. It's my first encounter and realization of how migraines can be so debilitating. After much prayer and discussion with my doctor, I've decided to take a month off in adjusting and accommodating this new lifestyle change. With that said, Just Commonly will not have any new posts for the month of December.

I apologize for not spending and sharing one of my favorite months with you, talking about best books to give and the many wonderful books to review. Don't worry, previously scheduled reviews will just be delayed to early 2017.  My year end "Best" lists will need to be postpone as well, as well as the many giveaways I've planned.  However, I've decided to still post TWO of the intended giveaways which is a THANK YOU to readers and fans of Just Commonly. I will dearly miss this time with you. As you had surmised, my presence on social media will also be affected for December until I have a better grasp on managing my time with the diagnosis, along with time to meet with my doctors.

Hello. I've hinted on my Instagram (@justcommonly) that I'm in the process of coming back after years away from blogging.  @justcommonly I had the very intention to be posting within a week of the first hint.  Yet life is full of surprises. Choosing my Bible to work around migraine

How did you choose your current Bible? Is this your first Bible?  I'll get into how I chose my current Bible, at least my main one. First, I would like to explain why I needed a new one. It all started with my determination to focus on reading the Bible if that's the only reading (and accomplishment) I get done in the day.  Since my migraine became chronic, reading had become unbearable for a variety of reasons associated with the symptoms.  This includes reading the Word, let alone studying it. In truth, there was a huge spiritual warfare going on during the time. That's another focus for another day.  My Bible has been with me for years. I loved everything about it, and to be unable to read it, I was frustrated and lost. Then an epiphany came on a lucid morning. Migraines is not just a headache + Announcement

June is National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month.   It's only since being diagnosed with migraines have I started understanding how vast and severely debilitating a disease it is. Migraine is a disabling disease that affects 37 million people in the United States. If you know someone with migraines, be it a love one or a friend, co worker or even just an acquaintance, get to how the migraine is affecting them, and not just assume.
