The last thing Search and Rescue helicopter pilot Kacey Fairing needs upon returning home to Mercy Falls, Montana, is to run into her mistakes. After a devastating crash during her recent military tour in Afghanistan, she is emotionally broken but ready to start putting her life back together. She just wants to reconnect with her teenage daughter and spend the summer working as the new lead pilot of PEAK Rescue in Glacier National Park.
But her mistakes aren't so easily forgotten. Because Ben King is also back in town.
Country music star Ben King abandoned his past when he moved to Nashville thirteen years ago to start his career. He hoped to heal his broken heart, caused by losing the woman he loved. But when his father is injured, Ben is called home to help manage PEAK Rescue during his recovery. He doesn't realize his father has ulterior motives until his old flame, Kacey, walks into his house and back into his heart.
Now, with Mercy Falls in a state of emergency due to flash floods, Kacey and Ben will have to work together to save lives. But when secrets are uncovered and old hurts rise to the surface, will they walk away again? Or can they find a different ending to their country love song?

I've always been fascinated by rescue teams, due to the nature of their work, and in this case, the danger it entails. The author captured every moment I would assumed if in such a situation very well, and that makes it thoroughly credible.
In terms of characters, I'm particularly fond of the heroine, Kacey Fairing. She is one tough cookie, considering her background and who she is now in Wild Montana Skies. In this book, we learn about the misunderstandings and miscommunication between Kacey and Ben, even though it's not only the "mis-es" that separated the two in the first place. Come years later, each are back in their hometown of Mercy Falls, and their connection and fiery passion have not dwindle, despite what they both have thought and denied. There's much more to the complications of lost love. Then we have the story of Ian and Sierra in the background, still brewing and without a resolution since the prequel. I can't wait to read more, and that speaks true for Ian and Sierra's story, as well as what the author have in store for us next in the series.
With that said, I would like to gift one of my readers a brand new copy of Wild Montana Skies to start on this new adventure with me. Scroll on down to enter this giveaway.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. This is my honest opinion.
