Illustrator Lorrie Bennett is known for painting vintage Bibles. Dating back to the early 1900s, many of her Bibles have been discarded because they are so worn. Inspired by the thought that the Bibles provided spiritual guidance for generations of people, she decided to give them new life by using them as canvases for her unique artwork. This style is adapted to many of the coloring pages within Inkspirations Fruit of the Spirit, so that the Word of God becomes a literal and figurative backdrop for your creations. Inkspirations: Fruit of the Spirit Adult Coloring book is the latest of a series of coloring books with original artwork by Lorrie Bennett. I was quite intrigued by this trend from the get go, but can never get myself to really indulge in it. I have several coloring books, and I find the act of just perusing them can be therapeutic as well, despite not coloring them just yet.  With Inkspirations, the artwork comes alongside a corresponding Biblical verse. Rather, the artwork corresponds with the provided Biblical verse, and that makes it ever more enjoyable. 
In Inkspirations, it starts off with a page of simple techniques for beginners, and then a sample of other's colored production of the pages within this book.  This one definitely is for beginners with strong and heavy lined drawings to get you started. However, even though the illustrations in Inkspirations are tailored towards beginners, I find its over-drawn details unnecessary. The lines provide depth and shading to the illustrations, but it takes away from the reader/colorist to attempt to play with it. As you can see from the example above, even the leaves are heavily lined. Otherwise, I think this would be a great start to a wonderful hobby.

Choosing my Bible to work around migraine

How did you choose your current Bible? Is this your first Bible?  I'll get into how I chose my current Bible, at least my main one. First, I would like to explain why I needed a new one. It all started with my determination to focus on reading the Bible if that's the only reading (and accomplishment) I get done in the day.  Since my migraine became chronic, reading had become unbearable for a variety of reasons associated with the symptoms.  This includes reading the Word, let alone studying it. June is National Migraine & Headache Awareness Month.   It's only since being diagnosed with migraines have I started understanding how vast and severely debilitating a disease it is. Migraine is a disabling disease that affects 37 million people in the United States.
